Dr Gupta qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2001. She has been working in Sexual Health and HIV since 2004.
She is the Clinical Lead of Rotherham Sexual Health Services. The service was highly commended at the national BMJ awards in 2021, in the Women’s Health category for long-acting contraception provision. She is a member of the British HIV Association Guideline Committee. She was also invited as a peer reviewer of the FSRH 2023 intrauterine contraception guideline.
She is passionate about medical education and is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer. She has been invited to teach on multiple nationally recognised courses, such as the Sexually Transmitted Infection Foundation Course and the BASHH HIV Masterclass.
She has co-authored chapters in medical textbooks including the ABC of Sexually Transmitted Infections and the internationally acclaimed Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology. She has also written articles for Prescriber journal on the management of STI’s in primary care.
She is married to a GP and has two children. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, singing and participating in amateur dramatic productions.
