Meet the Speakers
Beverley Bostock

Beverley is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in general practice in Gloucestershire. She is also Editor in Chief of Practice Nurse journal. She qualified as an RGN at St George’s Hospital London and gained a BSc in Professional Nursing Studies after completing 2 years of an advanced clinical practice MSc at Wolverhampton University. She is an Independent Nurse Prescriber and holds an MSc in Respiratory Care and an MA in Medical Ethics and Law.

Beverley’s other qualifications include a Post Graduate Award in Diabetes Therapeutics from Warwick University.

Beverley has extensive educational experience developing modules in diabetes and CVD for an Open University-affiliated organisation and is an Expert Witness for a clinical negligence company. She has been a Queen’s Nurse since 2015, a title which is given to nurses who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to patient care and nursing practice.

Beverley is the president elect for the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society and has worked on the Implementation Steering Group of Public Health England’s CVDPREVENT project and Oxford AHSN’s ‘Prevention of CVD during the pandemic’ guidance. She has also been a Visiting Lecturer in behaviour change at Imperial College London for the MSc in Preventive Cardiology.

Symposium Speaker - Dr Paul Downie Symposium Speaker - Dr Paul Downie

Dr Downie is a Consultant Lipidologist/Chemical Pathologist at the University Hospitals of Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This is a busy tertiary centre which looks after patients with common lipid disorders as well as rarer lipid conditions including Homozygous FH. Bristol has an active research programme and Dr Downie is currently a principal investigator and sub-investigator on several large several large cardiovascular trials. Dr Downie’s particular areas of interest include optimisation of lipids in secondary prevention, lipoprotein(a), apheresis and in particular hypertriglyceridemia, having established the only NGS assay in the UK (now included in the National Genomics Test Directory) for the investigation of genetic causes of severe hypertriglyceridemia.

In addition he was until recently a specialist CVD advisor for the West of England Health Innovation Network and is also regional Training Programme Director for Chemical Pathology in the South West.

Formerly a GP partner he also understands the challenges faced by colleagues in general practice and is passionate about the critical need to bring a pragmatic approach to patient care. He enjoys working with primary care colleagues to help optimise community CV risk management.

Do You Provide Recordings Of The Zoom Webinar?

None of our webinars are recorded, due to the presentations being copyright and therefore the intellectual property of our speakers.

Do I Get A Refund If I Cancel?

All paid course fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. Our fees are so nominal, they cover administration costs of the event, which have already been incurred (e.g., Admin time/Website Costs/Card Payment Processing Fees). Please let us know if you are unable to attend, as it will allow your place to be allocated to another delegate. If you fail to attend a paid course, you will still have access to the course downloads. If you fail to attend a free course, you will not have access to any post course materials. To notify us that you cannot attend the course, please send an email to webinar@mediconf.co.uk

How Do I Access My Certificate And Course Materials?

After attending one of our courses, certificates of attendance and any course materials are available for 6 months for sole sponsored events and 12 months for all other events ONLY. After the course date, please log onto the Members Area of our website, to obtain your documents. If you require a duplicate copy of your certificate, an admin fee of £15.00 will be charged. This payment can be made over the telephone using all major cards.
